In addition to offering details about your clinical specialties, training and research, the physician profile page gives you a chance to tell patients a little more about yourself. The professional statement section will let you provide additional biographical information such as special interests, professional milestones, or any other accomplishments not covered in the rest of your profile.

Your professional statement should be no more than a few sentences. You should not repeat information already included in your profile. After you submit your Professional Provider Statement, it will be reviewed for style and clarity before it is published online. If you have any questions, please contact your Marketing Communications contact.

Information you may want to include

  • Charitable service, volunteer work, or other projects.

Tips for creating your professional statement

  • Use this space to highlight what makes you uniquely qualified to treat the patients you specialize in treating.

Examples of professional statements

Primary care:

Since arriving at Hospital X in 2015, I have provided primary care to children living in foster care through the XYZ program. I also work in the ADHD program at the X clinic, helping to diagnose and manage children with ADHD in collaboration with an ADHD coach.

For most of my career, I worked primarily in community pediatrics in a variety of settings including community health centers, school clinics and a mobile team in X city. I have also worked with families pursuing international adoption and am interested in global child health. I have been an advocate for pediatric oral health and immunization delivery.

I draw on my 25 years of experience as a community pediatrician in my work with the American Academy of Pediatrics as a member of the X program. This grants program provides funding to community pediatricians, desiring to improve the health of children at the community level.

Oncology:

I was first drawn to medicine because I wanted to help people. I chose hematology and oncology because they are rapidly evolving fields—through their advances, I can treat people using the newest therapies.

I treat each patient as a partner, and together, we work toward a common goal. Communication with my patients and their caregivers is essential to providing the best care. I also prioritize providing my patients with access to clinical trials.

At XYZ Cancer Center, my colleagues and I approach cancer treatment as a collaboration between specialties. We offer patients the most current clinical trials and we strive to provide as much support as possible for patients and families during such a difficult time.

My clinical and research interest is gastrointestinal cancers, with a focus on liver and biliary cancer, pancreatic cancer and gastric cancer. Currently, I am studying whether radiation therapy in combination with immunotherapy is an effective treatment for pancreatic cancer.

Cardiology:

I received my B.S. in Physics from University of X and my medical degree from X State University. I completed medical training at the XYZ Medical Center where I completed my Internal Medicine residency, a one-year specialty training in echocardiography, followed by a Cardiovascular Medicine fellowship. I was elected by my colleagues as Chief Fellow and recognized by the faculty as the Outstanding Fellow of the Year in 2012.

I enjoy developing the patient-physician relationship and making sure that patients are actively involved in managing their medical conditions. I practice all aspects of cardiology including coronary artery disease, valve disease and preventive care.

When not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my growing family, reading and photography.
