    Penn Presbyterian Medical Center is once again netting honors, this time earning an “A” rating from the Spring 2018 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade! PPMC was one of only 750 hospitals nationwide that received top marks this cycle, meaning that the tireless work and unwavering dedication of the entire staff to prioritize patient safety and to meet the highest safety standards in the country has not gone unnoticed.

    Presby’s Patient Safety Week Is a Touchdown!

    PPMC kept the Super Bowl spirit alive and livened up the hallways with a “Fly, Presby, Fly – On the Road to Zero Harm” theme during the 13th Annual Patient Safety Fair! Teams from around the hospital put together displays (many of them Eagles-related) and presentations that highlighted their innovative practices and their role in cultivating a culture of safety.

    From Passenger to Lifesaver: A Great Save at 35,000 Feet

    Air travel can be exhausting, and an in-flight emergency takes it to a new level. That’s what Jen Vuich, RN, CCRN, CEN, a clinical nurse in PPMC’s Emergency Department, discovered on a February flight to Florida, but by drawing on her training, her resolve, and her ability to make quick judgment calls, she was able to turn a stressful, unstable situation into a “great save.”
