safety

PPMC kept the Super Bowl spirit alive and livened up the hallways with a “Fly, Presby, Fly – On the Road to Zero Harm” theme during the 13th Annual Patient Safety Fair! Clinical teams from around the hospital put together educational displays (many of them Eagles-related) and gave engaging presentations that highlighted their innovative practices, their focus on preventing harm and ensuring a safe, comfortable patient experience, and on their role in cultivating a culture of safety at PPMC.

Staff and visitors alike were invited to learn more about teams’ strategies, ask questions, play games, and partake in candy, cupcakes, soft pretzels, and other treats. During the awards ceremony, prizes were raffled off, and the week’s top five displays were recognized – a tough choice given that everyone went above and beyond!

Top marks went to the Endoscopy team for their hilarious and truly unforgettable display detailing the rescue prep process for a colonoscopy and claiming that we can all be “Super Bowel” champions. With goal posts set up in the conference room and a pillow shaped like a certain iconic emoji, passersby were invited to “kick the crap out of colon cancer.” The emoji-topped Lombardi trophy that sat alongside their display was definitely appropriate since their creativity earned them two first place awards!

Congratulations to all of the winners, and thank you for ensuring that PPMC’s focus on patient safety spans all year round!
