Theresa Larivee, chief executive officerSpring has arrived in Philadelphia, and with that comes warmer weather and blooming flowers in our campus gardens. Much like a flower needs sunshine to flourish, a hospital needs its employees to grow and thrive. And at PAH, our employees have been doing just that.

From nourishing our hospital with meals, sanitizing and sustaining clean spaces, and performing vital procedures, to simply being a hand to hold or shoulder to lean on, this dedicated and talented workforce has made immeasurable contributions to the patient care experience.

Highlighted in this issue of What’s New, our annual Employee Service Awards honored our employees who have achieved significant work milestones. We thank them for their commitment to PAH and for all they’ve done in their years of service.

I’d also like to express gratitude for all of our employees who have demonstrated immense strength during these uniquely challenging times of an ever-evolving pandemic. Even amid constant change with COVID-19 surges, new variants, and developing safety protocols, your unwavering support for maintaining high levels of care has never faltered.

Whether it be your first day or 40th anniversary at PAH, it is an honor to work alongside you all, and I thank you for your continued service to our community.
