Earlier this spring, we celebrated Hospital & Healthcare Week, an annual opportunity to show appreciation to each of you, our Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health team, for your hard work and dedication to our patients, colleagues and community.
Your contributions are absolutely essential to successfully achieving our mission to advance the health and well-being of the communities we serve. And as difficult as health care is today, an annual thank you is often not enough.
Since I arrived in Lancaster more than two years ago, I have heard daily from a patient or family member about the special nature of our team and each one of you. We want you to hear those words of gratitude. To that end, we will be initiating a patient gratitude system, which will allow patients and families to share their gratitude directly with you and your manager. I look forward to sharing more details about this initiative with you in the near future.
Recognition from a peer can be especially meaningful. I also encourage you to recognize each other by submitting a nomination for our Live Your Legacy or CEO Awards, which honor the hard work, dedication and passion of your fellow LG Health employees.
- The Live Your Legacy Awards celebrate an individual and team who embody our cultural truths – Live Your Passion, Live Your Best and Live Your Commitment – our core values and the Penn Medicine Experience Standards.
- The CEO Award, which is LG Health’s highest institutional honor, recognizes teams and their leaders for achievements that support our Mission, Vision and Values.
CEO Award or Live Your Legacy award nominations were open until June 5. Nominations will be reviewed by a cross-organizational committee, and finalists will be forwarded to the CEO for selection. Information about both awards is available on StarNet.
