3600 CCB is Open for Business!

Up until recently, many of Penn Medicine’s corporate departments, such as Human Resources and Information Services, were located in separate locations throughout the city, from West Philly to Center City. With the recent opening of the new building at 3600 Civic Center Boulevard, these areas have now come together, in a unique space designed with the principles of innovation, sustainability, technology and community in mind.

On each floor, the open floor space with six-foot by six-foot workstations and common areas promotes collaboration and engagement. Open stairwells make it easy to go between the six floors. Daylight pours in through large windows in the building. Rosemarie Cray, senior project manager in HR who oversaw the transition, said one of the goals of the move was to provide staff with a contemporary work space, complete with the latest in technology and large collaboration areas on each floor. “Employees are truly interacting and collaborating much more than in the traditional spaces.”

The new building houses several UPHS departments, including Corporate Shared Services (Human Resources, Information Services and Marketing), Communications and Government and Community Relations, Billing Compliance, Corporate Safety ,Office of Medical Affairs, HUP Finance, CEQI, Human Resources, and Information Services.  There’s also a child care center for Penn Medicine faculty and staff, as well as University offices. CCB currently has 10 levels but can be expanded up to 19.

“The work environment has allowed us to become closer with our colleagues,” said Jen Brady, manager of Employee Health and Well-Being. “I’m genuinely excited to come to work every day.”

Build a Better You in 2019

In the New Year, we typically set fitness, nutrition or financial goals, but how often do our peers and loved ones hold us accountable? Entering 2019, not only will the Wellfocused team help hold you accountable, but we will be offering programs with the resources you need to maintain a healthier lifestyle as we help “Build A Better You”:

  • January will focus on increasing your resilience and helping to manage stress.
  • For February, we will focus on having a healthy heart. Heart disease remains the number one cause of death in both men and women so knowing your numbers and staying active is important. Throughout this campaign we’ll encourage you to get your annual well check up with your primary care physician, and remind you of the importance of getting age recommended preventive cancer screenings.
  • In the spring, we will shift gears to focus on revisiting your goals from the New Year and maintaining healthy nutrition habits.

Join us on this journey of physical, emotional and financial well-being as we help “Build a Better You” in the New Year. Look for more information coming soon. In the meantime, feel free to email the Wellfocused team at Wellfocused@uphs.upenn.edu with any questions.
