Presby Stars

Every month, PPMC staff members who embody Service, Teamwork, Achievement, and Respect, are named Presby STARs. In addition to earning recognition from their colleagues, these outstanding all-stars also receive a certificate from CEO Michele Volpe and a $100 award.

PPMC is proud to have incredible staff who are willing to go the extra mile — from Lena Miller, a patient care associate on PAC 5 who helped the mother of a long-term patient make a hair appointment to enjoy some self-care after weeks at the bedside, to Renee Nash, a Dietary team member who saw on a patient’s meal ticket that it was their birthday and promptly brought them a celebratory cupcake.

Another recent Presby STAR who went above and beyond was Hillary Renner, RN, a clinical nurse in the trauma-surgical intensive care unit. When she realized that a patient’s wife was extremely overwhelmed, Renner showed her the same compassion and care that she shows her patients. Rather than dismissing her with a quick assurance that everything would be fine, Renner stopped and listened. They sat together, hand-in-hand, and talked through the emotional and spiritual distress she was experiencing. Her colleagues note that this was only one of many instances that demonstrated her empathy and ability to provide hope and encouragement to those who need it most.

Congratulations to newest STARs lineup — we are so grateful for the dedication and compassion that you show the PPMC community!
