Employees, physicians, allied staff, volunteers, contractors, consultants, and students working at Penn Medicine Princeton Health facilities have two more in-house opportunities to receive their mandatory flu shots.

On Friday, October 4, vaccinations will be provided at Princeton House Behavioral Health, 905 Herrontown Road, Princeton, N.J., from 7:30 am to 4 pm.

Princeton Medical Center (PMC), 1 Plainsboro Road, Plainsboro, N.J., will host the second event from 7 am to 7 pm on Friday, October 11.

Employees must bring their Princeton Health ID badges. Physicians, allied staff, volunteers, contractors, consultants, and students must bring their ID badges and copies of the front and back of their insurance cards. Egg-free vaccines will be available for those who are allergic to eggs.

Flu vaccination is required by November 25. Exemptions are allowed for documented medical or religious reasons.

All individuals required to be vaccinated have the option to get their shots at pharmacies or other non-Princeton Health locations and then submit a form documenting compliance with the vaccine policy.

The mandatory vaccination policy helps protect patients, visitors, and coworkers from exposure to seasonal influenza. Some individuals, particularly older adults, pregnant women, very young children, and people with various medical conditions, are susceptible to serious health complications from the flu. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that individuals 6 months of age and older receive a vaccination every flu season.
