Celebrations were held throughout Penn Medicine Princeton Health on Wednesday, May 22 to allow staff members to get more acquainted with and reflect on our new Mission, Vision and Values (MVV) and the BE Standards.

“As we continue our organizational pursuit of excellence, we have a growing appreciation for the value of a shared mission, vision and values that can guide our behavior and decision-making,” President and CEO Barry S. Rabner wrote in a memo introducing the MVV. “Thank you to the almost 800 employees, physicians, volunteers, trustees, patients, and other members of the community who offered their perspectives or were otherwise engaged in the process.”

At Princeton Medical Center, festivities were hosted in a well-traveled area outside the Chapel of Light. Passersby were invited to enjoy a snack, pose for a photo, play interactive games, and leave post-it notes on MVV-themed poster boards. Staff members were asked to comment on what the MVV elements mean to them or to give examples of the MVV in action.

Similar celebrations were held at the Princeton House Behavioral Health inpatient campus in Princeton, N.J. and outpatient locations throughout central and southern New Jersey.

Staff members at Princeton House’s Moorestown site employed a 1990s theme for their celebration, honoring the 1991 opening of Princeton House’s first partial hospital program. Hallmarks of the day included grunge-era denim and flannel stylings, fanny packs, and a spirited group effort at dancing the Macarena.
