Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center (PMC) was recognized as a Best Regional Hospital and ranked among New Jersey’s top 10 hospitals and the top 20 for the entire New York metropolitan region in U.S. News & World Report’s 2018-19 Best Hospitals rankings.
PMC was also rated high performing in hip replacement, knee replacement and heart failure.
The rankings, published online in August, are based on data related to clinical outcomes and patient safety, as well as indicators such as patient satisfaction and whether a hospital holds Magnet® recognition, the highest institutional recognition available for nursing excellence.
This was the fourth consecutive year that PMC was recognized as a Best Regional Hospital in central New Jersey and earned its way into the top 10 statewide and top 20 in the New York metropolitan region.
“The U.S. News rankings are rooted in key performance measures, and it is gratifying that our hospital is named every year as one of the best in our region,” said Barry S. Rabner, President and CEO of Penn Medicine Princeton Health, a comprehensive system that includes PMC. “Throughout Princeton Health, we are committed to continuously monitoring and improving our performance. Our goal is to provide exceptional care and service to every patient, every time. Thank you to our physicians and staff for these results.”
PMC has been rated high performing in both hip replacement and knee replacement every year since U.S. News first began evaluating hospitals on those procedures in 2015.
Princeton Health is among a select group of health systems or hospitals nationwide to earn advanced certification in total hip replacement and total knee replacement from The Joint Commission—the nation’s preeminent healthcare accrediting body, widely recognized as a symbol of quality. The advanced certification recognized the care and services offered in PMC’s Jim Craigie Center for Joint Replacement, as well as follow-up physical therapy provided by Princeton HomeCare and Princeton Rehabilitation.
