Clinical units and office locations across Penn Medicine Princeton Health are collecting non-perishable foods, personal care items, cleaning supplies, pet food and pet-related products through Friday, May 11 to benefit area families.
This is the sixth consecutive year that employees, volunteers and physicians at Princeton Health participated in a food drive to support residents of central New Jersey.
“Caring and compassion are inherent in what we do here at Penn Medicine Princeton Health,” said Reina Fleury, MBA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, director, Human Resources. “Participating in this food drive allows us to extend that caring and compassion by helping to provide some basic necessities for people in need.”
This year’s food drive kicked off on the first day of spring, March 20. The timing was based on feedback from food pantry operators that feeding programs usually receive abundant support during the holidays but face shortages at other times in the year.
Donation boxes have been placed at all Princeton Health locations. The goods collected at the hospital will be donated to the Plainsboro Food Pantry, which supports more than 50 families in the township. Off-site locations are free to donate to Plainsboro or choose food pantries or social service agencies in their communities.
