All three Penn Medicine hospitals have once again been ranked astop hospitals by U.S. News & World Report.
The publication’s annual ranking of hospitals in America lists HUPas one of only 18 hospitals in the nation to be recognized as an “Honor Roll” hospitalfor its exceptional performance. This year, HUP is ranked 11th on the list oftop hospitals, which is culled from nearly 5,000 hospitals nationwide.
In the publication’s rating of regional hospitals, all threehospitals were among the top 10 in Philadelphia – HUP topped the list at #1, whilePenn Presbyterian Medical Center and Pennsylvania Hospital ranked 4th and 6th, respectively.In the state of Pennsylvania, HUP was ranked second, with Penn Presbyterian andPennsylvania Hospital ranked 8th and 9th, respectively.
Penn Presbyterian wasalso among 147 facilities (including HUP and Pennsylvania Hospital) to beranked in even one of the 16 specialties. Presby earned national recognitionfor 2 specialties (Geriatrics and Ear, Nose & Throat), and was deemedHigh-Performing in 8 specialties (Cardiology & Heart Surgery, Diabetes &Endocrinology, Gastroenterology & GI Surgery, Nephrology, Neurology & Neurosurgery,Orthopedics, Pulmonology, and Urology).
