Yes, Penn Home Palliative Care services are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance and HMOs.

Who is eligible for this service?

Penn Home Palliative Care services are intended for patients who are homebound, facing a serious illness and in need of skilled nursing care. Services include a specific focus on symptom management and advanced care planning, with access to trained Nurse Practitioners.

Where do patients receive care?

Most of our patients wish to remain at home. The support of our team helps make this possible.

Is Penn Home Palliative Care the same as hospice care?

No, Penn Home Palliative Care is designed for patients who are still receiving treatment while hospice is most appropriate for patients who wish to focus on comfort care.
