Samuel Parry, MD

Vice Chair for Faculty Affairs
Director, OBGYN Mentorship Program

Welcome to the Faculty Development page for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The department is invested in the careers of our faculty and is proud of the many accomplishments of our faculty in all of our missions – clinical care, research, and education. In support of faculty development, the department has established a mentorship program and a mentorship oversight committee that are focused on innovative thinking, career growth, and professional satisfaction. We schedule several mentorship meetings throughout the year that we encourage you to attend, so please check the OBGYN Faculty Meeting minutes for upcoming dates.  There are also many resources within the Perelman School of Medicine to help you achieve your career goals and we have included many of them in the Helpful Resource section below.

The OBGYN Mentorship Program also works in concert with Dr. Courtney Schreiber, a senior faculty member in the OBGYN Department and Executive Director of FOCUS.   The mission of FOCUS is to support the advancement and leadership of women in academic medicine and to promote education and research in women’s health and women’s careers. FOCUS works to achieve these goals through professional development and leadership mentoring initiatives.  Additional information on the FOCUS program including upcoming events can be found here.
