Penn Medicine's Trauma Center is accredited by the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation as a Level 1, Regional Resource Trauma Center and is nationally and internationally recognized as a model program for other hospitals. In February 2015, Penn Medicine's Level 1 Trauma Center moved from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania to the Pavilion for Advanced Care at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. A new 178,000 square-foot, acute care building, the Pavilion for Advanced Care provides enhanced capacity for emergency, surgical, trauma and critical care patients.
