About Dr. Parmar

Dr. Parmar is a third-year urology resident in the Department of Surgery, Division of Urology at the University of Pennsylvania. She was selected for the combined BS/MD program at the University of Miami, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in neuroscience and minors in music and chemistry and subsequently her Medical Degree from the Miller School of Medicine. In medical school, she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism Honor Societies.

Research

In medical school, her primary research focused on investigating the effects of leptin on Leydig stem cell differentiation to increase endogenous testosterone production as a novel therapeutic mechanism for men with low testosterone desiring to preserve fertility. She is in the 6-year track and will be entering her research year next year with an interest in endourology, quality improvement, and access to care.
