Matthew Rabinowitz is a first-year resident in the Department of Surgery, Division of Urology at the University of Pennsylvania. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan where he graduated with highest distinction and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He attended medical school at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Rabinowitz’s fields of interest include men’s health and wellness, sexual medicine, minimally invasive treatments for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), and medical education.

Research

During medical school and residency, Dr. Rabinowitz has conducted clinical research relating to the intersections between men’s health and public health, including work evaluating the impact of COVID-19 on sexual medicine and access to outpatient care in vulnerable populations. He is currently the principal investigator of a study evaluating the associations between sexual dysfunction caused by selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and medicine nonadherence in young adult men. Dr. Rabinowitz’s projects have also involved treatment options for BPH, Prostate Cancer, Kidney Cancer, Urinary Incontinence, Scrotal Pyoceles, and Chronic Prostatitis.
