The Department of Medicine at Penn is committed to medical student education. Our goal is to provide all medical students with a strong foundation in the discipline of Internal Medicine starting from the pre-clinical curriculum through the clerkship, sub-internship, and medicine electives. Our medical student leadership team is committed to providing high quality small group and clinical learning experiences for students so that they are prepared for residency, regardless of specialty. We have clinical training experiences on general medicine and specialty inpatient rotations, inpatient and outpatient specialty electives, and intensive care unit rotations. Our faculty, fellows, and residents pride themselves on a tradition of teaching excellence. For those students interested in Internal Medicine as a career, we provide longitudinal career counseling, mentoring and research opportunities.
