The Abramson Cancer Center offers extensive support services for patients and their loved ones. Support services are one of the offerings that make our cancer program truly unique. 

Our support services include a wide range of educational materials and events to help cancer patients and their loved ones. They include support groups, classes, conferences and library of resources with the latest information for your particular type of cancer.     Patient navigators are experienced cancer nurses who help patients and their families by guiding them through the steps and decisions that are involved in a cancer diagnosis and treatment plan.

  • Integrative Medicine and Wellness

    Research shows that integrative medicine and wellness services enhance quality of life and minimize side effects of cancer and cancer treatment.

  • Support Groups

    A variety of support groups are available at the Abramson Cancer Center to help cancer patients and their families.

    Get nutrition tips, printable information sheets, and read frequently asked questions about nutrition before, during, and after cancer treatment.

  • Nutritional Counseling

    Nutritional counseling by registered dietitians is available for all patients being treated for cancer at the Abramson Cancer Center.

    The cancer journey is fraught with stress and uncertainty, and animals can provide the best kind of medicine.

  • Pastoral Care

    Chaplains and pastoral care are available at the Abramson Cancer Center to help you with your spiritual needs.

  • Oncology Social Workers

    Oncology Social Workers provide support to patients, families, and caregivers who are dealing with cancer.

  • Stress Management

    Mindfulness-based stress reduction is uniquely effective in coping with the side effects of cancer and cancer treatment.

  • Talking to Friends and Family

    Cancer patients often feel alone with their diagnosis. A support network can help create a sense of connections with others during and after treatment.

  • Palliative Care and Pain Management

    Abramson Cancer Center’s palliative care team works together with you and your family to manage symptoms, coordinate care and discuss your goals of care.

  • Home Care Services

    Penn home infusion therapy helps patients receive medications, blood products, and other fluids in the comfort of their home.

  • Hospice

    The goal of hospice is to assist patients and families with the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects associated with terminal illness.
