Navigating health care can seem complicated, but you don’t have to do it alone. At Penn Medicine, our oncology nurse and patient navigators are here to support you. They’re experts in managing complex medical needs and systems. You can depend on them to clearly explain medical terms and guide you, making your cancer journey more manageable.

How your navigator can help

Every cancer diagnosis is different. Oncology nurse and patient navigators empower you to be an active participant in your care through shared decision-making. They provide a range of support based on your needs and guide you from diagnosis through treatment and even into survivorship.

Nurse navigators can help you:

  • Find the right doctors and schedule appointments.
  • Understand your cancer diagnosis, treatment options, and side effects.
  • Connect with helpful resources like support groups and financial aid.
  • Learn about clinical trials that might be a good fit for you.
  • Uncover information you need to make informed choices.
