University of Pennsylvania alumni Mindy and Jon Gray donated $55 million to establish the Basser Cancer Interception Institute, which aims to advance early detection and prevention of breast, ovarian, pancreatic, and prostate cancers. This brings the Grays’ philanthropy toward Penn Medicine to a total of $125 million, including their $25 million gift which established the Basser Center for BRCA at the Abramson Cancer Center in 2012.

Building on their $10 million gift last year to establish the Colton Center for Autoimmunity at Penn, Stewart and Judy Colton are infusing an additional $50 million into the Center’s work. The additional funding will provide further resources to accelerate the Center’s development into an internationally leading center of autoimmune research and treatment with a dedicated space, powerful recruitment capabilities, scientific resources, and more.
