Nurses, medical students and other healthcare providers affiliated with Penn Medicine Princeton Health will soon have access to an upgraded Clinical Simulation Laboratory for real-world, experiential learning and professional training.
The laboratory, located at Princeton Medical Center, offers ongoing learning opportunities to become highly skilled in medical techniques within the safety of clinical simulation.
Cutting-edge patient simulation mannequins, complementary training devices and other state-of-the-art equipment will be added to the laboratory in early 2019, thanks to a generous gift from philanthropist Betty Wold Johnson.
This risk-free environment will be an invaluable tool to help nurses and other key members of the patient’s medical team practice their clinical and decision-making skills while receiving real-time feedback.
A nurse educator will oversee the laboratory’s Simulation Training Program, which will provide instruction in areas such as cardiac arrest team management; neonatal, pediatric and adult critical care/resuscitation; respiratory care; and wound care.
Johnson has been a longstanding champion of advancing education and training for healthcare professionals. Princeton Health is grateful for her shared commitment to our goal of providing innovative learning opportunities for our nurses and other medical professionals.
