Coronavirus Information from Penn Obstetrics

Obstetrical providers across the health system have been working from the beginning of the epidemic to make sure that we are able to continue to provide care to our patients that is personal, based on good science, and meets the high standards we have for care at Penn. We have many processes in place to make sure the birth of your child is safe and special.

Appointments and Procedures: How We're Keeping You Safe

At Penn Medicine, our highest priority is making sure you get the care you need, when you need it, in the safest way possible.

We've implemented new safety protocols for in-person appointments and procedures. We are continually evaluating patient care to improve treatment and reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19.

We also have answers to frequently asked questions about COVID-19, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and how you can help keep your baby safe.

We offer prenatal care at Penn Medicine Washington Square, Penn Medicine Valley Forge and Cherry Hill. Prenatal care is also available at the Ludmir Center for Women.

With over 5,000 births a year, we have a wide array of specialized treatments and services to ensure healthy babies, healthy mothers and happy families. Each birth is a wondrous event and every woman receives individualized care for her unique needs. Our team of highly skilled professionals includes obstetricians, certified nurse-midwives, perinatologists (for high-risk pregnancies), pediatricians specializing in newborn care, neonatologists, genetic counselors, nurses and social workers.

We are the first in the region and one of only 58 hospitals in the country to have received Perinatal Care Certification from the Joint Commission.
