At Penn Medicine, our dermatology specialists deliver expert care to meet a variety of skin health needs. From treating common conditions to providing advanced therapies for complex skin issues, we offer comprehensive solutions to help you achieve healthier skin, including:

  • General dermatology: Complete care for common skin conditions like acne, eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea to manage symptoms and improve skin health.
  • Phototherapy: Controlled ultraviolet light therapy reduces inflammation and improves symptoms of chronic conditions like psoriasis and eczema.
  • Dermatopathology: Skin biopsies are analyzed under a microscope to diagnose skin disorders accurately and guide treatment plans.
  • Photopheresis: This light-based therapy treats conditions like cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, helping manage disease symptoms and promote healthier skin.
  • Skin cancer care: At our Dermatology Oncology Center, advanced therapies are used to diagnose and treat melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers.

Clinical trials

Clinical trials offer patients the opportunity to try new and effective treatments and take part in future research.

Conditions we treat

Take charge of your health with skin cancer screening and care

Regular skin self-exams and professional screenings are an important part of an early skin cancer detection plan. They can help find cancer early when it’s most treatable.

We offer state-of-the-art skin cancer screening, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. As part of Penn Cancer System, experts at the Abramson Cancer Center, a world leader in cancer research, patient care, and education, and the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute provide access to advanced skin cancer diagnostic and treatment options.

We offer:

  • Full-body skin exam: A dermatologist examines your skin from head to toe for moles and other suspicious spots, using a dermatoscope with a magnifying lens and light.
  • Whole-body photography: A medical photographer takes a series of skin photos every five to seven years to document and track changes, which can aid in skin cancer prevention and diagnosis.
  • Mohs and reconstructive surgery: Mohs micrographic surgery removes skin cancers with precision, and reconstructive techniques restore both function and appearance.
