Location tracking for appointment check-ins
MyChart can use geolocation on Apple and Android devices to detect when you arrive for an appointment.
You must have the myPennMedicine app open, location sharing turned on,and allow notifications for mobile arrival for MyChart to use the geolocation feature.

Turn on notifications. View a step-by-step guide to turn notifications on or off on your iPhone.
- Make sure Allow Notifications for your myPennMedicine app is set to on, and that you are allowing alerts on your lock screen, notification center, and banners.
- Sounds and badges also must be set to on.
Allow myPennMedicine to access your location.
- In your iPhone settings, navigate to Privacy.
- Tap Location Services.
- Tap the circle to turn on Location Services.
- Tap myPennMedicine.
- Tap Always in Allow Location Access. If not set to always, you must log in to the myPennMedicine app when you arrive at the practice to get notifications.

- Make sure your alerts are turned on to show as pop-up, vibrate, and App icon badges.
- After you turn on notifications, click the back arrow twice to return to the myPennMedicine app.
Allow myPennMedicine to access your location.
- In your Android device Settings, navigate to Permissions.
- In App Info tap Permissions.
- Tap Location and tap Allow all the time. If it is not set to allow all the time, you must log in to the myPennMedicine app when you arrive at the practice to get notifications.
