Plan a Visit

Please bring your insurance card to every appointment to verify current information. The co-pay and charges for non-covered services are due at the time of service. If patients are unable to pay at the time of their visit, they will be charged an additional $12 to cover the cost of billing.

Please note:

  • Children under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian accompany them to each visit.
  • If a patient is more than 15 minutes late for a scheduled appointment, it may be required to reschedule the visit.

Well Visits

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, a child should have a well check at the following ages:

  • One week
  • One month
  • Two months
  • Four months
  • Six months
  • Nine months
  • One year
  • 15 months
  • 18 months
  • 24 months
  • 30 months
  • 36 months
  • Once a year after 36 months.

The pediatricians follow the American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control regarding immunizations for all children. It is required that all PennCare for Kids patients receive immunizations.

In order to meet patients' scheduling needs, PennCare for Kids should be contacted two to three months in advance of when the patient is due for the next well check. When calling in for the appointment, PennCare for Kids will check the child's appointment history to determine when they were last seen. Most insurance companies will cover a well check every year once the child is two years old.

PennCare for Kids will try to schedule the next appointment at least 365 days after the last well check. Although insurance companies differ in their policies, this is the general rule followed. If a child needs a form completed by the physician, please bring it to the appointment.

Canceling Appointments

If you need to cancel an appointment, please call the office at least 24 hours in advance.

A nurse is available during normal business hours to answer questions and offer guidelines on the need for an appointment.
