Volunteer opportunities at Penn Medicine Doylestown Health
Volunteers are an essential part of the care experience at Penn Medicine Doylestown Health—offering comfort, connection, and support to patients, families, and staff. People of all ages and backgrounds serve throughout the hospital, enhancing care and bringing compassion to every interaction.
Volunteers can contribute in areas such as patient transport and wayfinding, information desks and guest services, gift shop and hospitality services, and more. Roles are matched to individual interests, and training is provided before placement.
Certified therapy dog teams bring smiles and comfort to patients and families. Handlers and dogs must meet certification and hospital requirements to ensure safe, positive visits.
Former heart patients offer one-on-one support to others recovering from cardiac events. By sharing personal experiences, volunteers help patients feel less alone and more hopeful through recovery.
Hospice volunteers offer compassionate support to patients and families through companionship, respite care, and administrative help.
- Companion/Respite: Visit patients, assist with light tasks, and help with projects.
- Bereavement: Call or visit families and write supportive cards.
Office: Provide clerical support and assist with mailings or calls.
