Patient Satisfaction Ratings

Patient Rating Breakdown

The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions shown below from our nationally-recognized Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.

Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score.

Comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Penn Medicine.

Description of Research Expertise:

The Cui lab examines the association between genetic diversity affecting mitochondrial respiration and open angle glaucoma in an effort to find novel neuroprotective mechanisms for glaucoma treatment. In particular, her lab has found an association between mutations affecting Complex IV of the mitochondrial electron transport chain and loss of retinal ganglion cells. Recently, she also demonstrated that iron chelation improved retinal ganglion cell and optic nerve axon survival in a mouse model of hypertensive glaucoma. Dr. Cui’s clinical research interests involve assessing health-related quality of life in glaucoma patients who are candidates for minimally invasive glaucoma surgical (MIGS) devices.

Key Words
Glaucoma; genetics research; mitochondria; glaucoma drainage devices; minimally invasive glaucoma surgery
