Pavan Atluri is Professor of Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania.  He has a busy clinical practice with over a decade of experience focused on mitral valve repair, minimally invasive and robotic mitral valve surgery, surgery for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, heart failure surgery, coronary artery bypass grafting, complex valvular surgery, and endovascular valvular therapies .  He is a world expert who has lectured around the world on these topics, most notably mitral valve repair.  Dr Atluri runs a translational research laboratory focused on tissue engineered therapies for ischemia reperfusion injury.
