Description of Research Expertise
Dr. Kohanski’s research focuses include understanding the role of inflammatory signals in the development of sinus polyps, with a focus on rare upper respiratory epithelial cells, solitary chemosensory cells, as a source of inflammation. From his Ph.D. work on antibiotic mechanisms of action and the development of antibiotic resistance, Dr. Kohanski also has an interest in understanding the evolution of antibiotic resistance as it pertains to the use of antibiotics in the treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis. Dr. Kohanski is an author/co-author on 29 peer reviewed scientific articles.
