Patient Satisfaction Ratings

Patient Rating Breakdown

The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions shown below from our nationally-recognized Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.

Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score.

Comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Penn Medicine.

Description of Clinical Expertise

My research and clinical interests include multimodality therapies for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma and liver dominant metastatic cancer.

I have initiated two clinical trials at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for treating hepatocellular carcinoma. One involves combining transcatheter embolization with external beam radiation, and the other combines transcatheter embolization with an investigational oral chemotherapeutics.

Clinical Trials:
1. A Pilot Trial of Transarterial Chemoembolization With or Without Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy for Hepatocellular Carcinoma Patients Awaiting Liver Transplantation, Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (UPCC16213)

2. Phase I-II Clinical Trial of the Safety of Hydroxychloroquine Combined with Transarterial Chemoembolization for Unresectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma, Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (UPCC22213)

My other area of clinical and research interest is lymphatic injury, dysfunction, and malformations. Clinically, I perform thoracic duct embolization to treat chylothorax. I participate in research investigating novel lymphatic interventions to treat chylothorax, chylous ascites, refractory ascites and protein losing enteropathy.

Research

Description of Research Expertise:

In addition to my research investigating lymphatic interventions and multimodality cancer therapies, I also conduct research on vascular remodeling as it relates to hemodialysis access malfunction and peripheral arterial disease.

In this research, I am investigating a minimally invasive near infrared imaging system to evaluate hemodialysis access. The goal of this research is to detect changes in blood vessels that lead to stenosis before it becomes symptomatic. Detection of such changes at any early stage could improve development and monitor response of therapies to treat vascular disease.
