Meet Dr. Basu

As part of a multidisciplinary team, Dr. Basu is dedicated to optimizing survival for the most serious cases of head and neck cancer cases while managing readily curable ones with the goal of minimizing lasting negative effects from treatment. He has over a decade of experience in managing the most complex head and neck cancers along with benign head and neck tumors. His practice integrates conventional surgery with endoscopic, robotic, and laser techniques to treat diseases of the mouth, throat, larynx, nose, sinuses, salivary glands, parapharyngeal space, and skin. He is also highly experienced in surgical management of thyroid and parathyroid diseases.

In addition, Dr. Basu’s NIH-funded research brings a cutting-edge molecular perspective to surgical cancer care, with particular focus on the HPV-related head and neck cancer epidemic. As a surgeon-scientist, his laboratory facilitates the use of these tumors removed from patients to advance the science of cancer therapy.
