Description of Research Expertise
My academic passion is surgical ethics. I have worked or am working on ethical issues in bundled payments, opioid policy, limb reconstruction and amputation, and shared decision-making. I am also involved in clinical ethics consultation, as the co-chair of the Pennsylvania Hospital Ethics Committee.
Additionally, I am a principal investigator and collaborator in gait biomechanics. Working with Josh Baxter PhD, I am leading multiple studies on gait in Achilles rehab as well as exploration biomechanics of pregnancy on gait. My work is funded by the NIH and orthopedic societies. Finally, I am an Associate Director of The Achilles Tendinopathy Center of Research Translation (AT-CORT), overseeing the clinical research.
