Dr. Nam Duy Nguyen, DO, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in Rheumatology at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine, where he cares for patients at Penn Medicine University City . He earned his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University (2007) and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (2014). Dr. Nguyen completed his internal medicine residency and rheumatology fellowship through the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium and later served as Chief of Rheumatology at Keesler Air Force Base, where he also contributed as core faculty for the internal medicine training program. Dr. Nguyen served as a medical officer in the United States Air Force prior to joining the Penn Medicine team. He is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, with a clinical focus on psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, seronegative spondyloarthropathies and musculoskeletal ultrasound. Dr. Nguyen additionally obtained the Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Certification in Rheumatology - RhMSUS™ certification from the American College of Rheumatology (2021). In recent years, he has co-authored several case-based publications and presentations on complex rheumatologic conditions.
