with concerns to the provider: "i noticed the question about who helped me with my birth plan. i just want to mention that it felt a bit like there was an assumption that i wouldn't be able to do it on my own. i'm sure that wasn't the intention, but it came across in a way that made me reflect on how race and age can affect how i'm perceived."
