Michael Kohanski, MD PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Rhinology within the Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck surgery at Penn Medicine. He is a fellowship-trained Rhinologist with clinical expertise in the treatment of inflammatory disorders of the nose and sinuses ( i.e., chronic rhinosinusitis, nasal polyps, AERD, allergic rhinitis) including advanced endoscopic sinus surgery, and endoscopic anterior skull base techniques for resection of benign or malignant sinus tumors and repair of cerebrospinal fluid leaks.   Dr. Kohanski also works closely with his neurosurgery colleagues on endoscopic approaches to pituitary tumors and brain tumors accessible through the sinuses and reconstruction of the skull base following tumor removal.  In addition to his practice, Dr. Kohanski has an active research program studying the pathogenesis of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps.

i was not compliant with my follow up treatment. he took time to explain everything i needed to know. he was not annoyed with me, but willing to treat me in spite of myself. because of his nonjudgmental attitude, i developed trust in his ability to care for me and will follow up accordingly.
