i felt that she doesnt really deal with kids well for being a pediatrician. i dont believe we've had her before and i hope not to again. my child does get scared of certain procedures. strep test being one of them. she didn't seem to have the patience for it, i felt she could've been better with empathy and perhaps a little tact that she may have gained from experience. we got the job done but i wasn't impressed. i asked if she could perhaps use a cotton swab to tickle my tonsils as an example and to see it's not so scary. but she replied with attitude and something about the back of the throat and not the cheek. i knew that, i've had it done a million times but it spoke to her not really listening. and then when i made her understand what my ask was, she said she couldn't do that because of liability. im not sure what it could have hurt but maybe she was right to refuse me, but maybe she could have demonstrated on herself. you know how kids are and sometimes they need to be shown. but a good bedside manor helps too. she just doesn't seem like someone id like to treat my child again. i understand it's frustrating when kids dont just cooperate but i feel it should've gone better with someone who works with kids in particular.
