About me

  • Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery

I have expertise in robotic and minimally invasive abdominal wall reconstruction and hernia repair, bariatric, and foregut surgery.

I did my general surgery residency training at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. I then completed an advanced minimally invasive surgery fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

With an undergraduate background in electrical engineering, I have a particular interest in the latest technologies being used in gastrointestinal surgery. I am also passionate about surgical education, research, and global surgery.

the dr was attentive and friendly; he also is clearly highly skilled and knowledgeable in his specialty. he was laser focused on looking at my situation from his specialty's perspective. he suggested surgical removal of my gall bladder in response to very mild and, as he described, not at all a perfect match to typical gall issues. i did not feel surgical removal is a desirable nor rational course of action given i don't have anywhere near severe symptoms at all. that gave me some pause. however, he did bring up a type of diagnostic scan that no one's ever mentioned to me. it sounds like a non invasive, informative, and logical direction. for raisng that choice, i appreciate the dr.
