Jason Bonomo, MD

I came to medicine through anthropology and epidemiology, which taught me to see health in the context of peoples lives and communities. That perspective grounds my commitment to cultural humility: I take time to understand your story, your values, and what matters to you before we decide on a plan together. My background is in general cardiology, cardiovascular genomics, and cardiac imaging. I provide comprehensive cardiovascular care, including preventive cardiology, coronary artery disease, heart failure, and arrhythmias, with special interests in diseases of the aorta (such as aortic aneurysm, dissection, and bicuspid aortic valve) and lipid disorders like elevated lipoprotein(a). You will leave each visit with a clear understanding of your health and a concrete plan for the next steps. I serve as Medical Director of the Outpatient Cardiology Clinic at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Previously, as the Kruvant Director of Cardiovascular Community Health at Inova Health System, I built programs that brought cardiovascular care to vulnerable communities. At Penn, I am expanding that work across greater Philadelphia. As a faculty member at the Perelman School of Medicine, I also teach medical trainees.
