James Kearney, MD, serves as the Chairman of Otorhinolaryngology at Pennsylvania Hospital. He has practiced at Pennsylvania Hospital since 1998. He has clinical expertise in surgery for nasal and sinus disorders, as well as tumors of the thyroid, parathyroid, and parotid glands. He is board certified in Sleep Medicine and performs advanced surgical procedures for sleep apnea, including hypoglossal nerve stimulators.

In addition to his practice, Dr. Kearney is the Associate Program Director for the University of Pennsylvania Otolaryngology Residency Program. His academic interest is in resident education and he serves in leadership roles for simulation training for the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. He has served as President of the Medical Staff at Pennsylvania Hospital and currently serves as the Vice Chair for Education in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology.
