About me

Amy McClain is an experienced occupational therapist with more than 30 years of clinical practice dedicated to helping individuals regain independence and improve quality of life. She specializes in the treatment of stroke and neurological conditions, including Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), post-concussion syndrome, and dementia. Amy provides individualized, one-on-one therapy focused on helping patients achieve their highest level of function in daily life. She partners closely with patients and their support networks to enhance independence with activities of daily living through comprehensive assessment and treatment of vision, perception, cognition, and upper extremity function. Amy also provides recommendations return to work, and community participation to help patients confidently navigate everyday activities. Amy also performs comprehensive Driving Risk Assessments for individuals with neurological conditions. These in-clinic evaluations help patients, families, and physicians better understand a person's readiness to return to or continue driving safely. The assessment does not include on-the-road testing but evaluates the key skills needed for safe driving, including vision, cognition, perception, and physical function. As an LSVT-certified clinician, Amy is committed to delivering evidence-based care that helps individuals with Parkinson’s Disease maximize their functional abilities and maintain an active, meaningful lifestyle.

Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband and two college-aged sons. She also enjoys traveling, reading, and crafting.
