Alexa Mcbeth Griffiths, MD

I am a fellowship trained breast surgeon at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital. I graduated from Bucknell University and earned my medical degree from St. George's University before completing General Surgery Residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. I subsequently completed a Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship at the University of Southern California (USC) where I received specialized training in the multidisciplinary management of breast cancer and complex breast disease.

My clinical expertise includes the surgical management of breast cancer, benign breast disease, high risk breast lesions, inherited genetic mutations associated with breast cancer and inflammatory conditions of the breast, including mastitis. My surgical practice includes breast conserving surgery with an oncoplastic approach, mastectomy, nipple sparing mastectomy, skin sparing mastectomy, sentinel lymph node biopsy, axillary lymph node dissection, and hidden scar techniques.

I believe that breast cancer care necessitates a team approach and work closely with medical and radiation oncology, radiology, pathology, genetics, and plastic surgery. I am invested in developing relationships with my patients and taking time to understand their goals, concerns, and preferences to create an individualized treatment approach. I am dedicated to staying at the forefront of advances in breast cancer care and incorporating the latest evidence and techniques into my practice. My goal is to provide excellent and compassionate surgical care during an incredibly difficult time.

I am board certified in general surgery and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBrS) and the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO). I am from Pennsylvania and in my free time enjoy spending time with her family, reading and running.
