Our Addiction Medicine program is designed to treat patients who have substance use disorders through primary care practices, just as they would receive care for issues like asthma or diabetes.
Treatment often includes medication (such as suboxone and vivitrol) and counseling for safe and effective recovery from opioid use disorder. Using medication to treat opioid addiction under the supervision of a doctor has been shown to reduce withdrawal symptoms and the risk of opioid overdose.
Initial consults currently happen at select family medicine offices listed below. After initial consultation, patients are matched to a primary care office (preferably your current doctor’s office, if possible) for on-going treatment.
