- Continuity of care. Deliver seamlessly coordinated care across all settings and service lines by eliminating unnecessary variation.
- High reliability. Strive to become a high reliability organization with a focus on safety, quality and efficiency within a culture of trust and resilience.
- Patient and staff engagement. Partner with patients and their families and incorporate all perspectives to achieve goals of care in a safe and effective manner.
- Innovation. Discover and translate advanced care for its patients and the field of healthcare.
Quality and performance metrics
Penn Medicine uses quality and performance metrics to track and strengthen our programs.
As part of our commitment to patient safety and clinical quality we publish and regularly update quality and performance metrics that share the full picture of patient care across our health system.
Our goal is to create a transparent and informative resource for patients and referring providers to help make health care decisions. We will update the data annually and share it with our patients and peers in other academic medical centers across the country as we examine and standardize quality and performance reporting.
