Featured speakers included Chair of Emergency Medicine Jenice Baker, MD, HR coordinator Quanny Huggins, CRCST, BS, and Emergency Room nurse Serena Justice, BSN, RN, who described the past, present, and future of Juneteenth, detailing the hardships endured throughout the country’s history to celebrate this day and the strides to tackle disparities, particularly in healthcare. The event also featured musical performances provided by lead anesthesia technician Tracy King, Barbara Foster – daughter of patient care technician Tyrone Foster – and Quanny, who sang an original song called “Time Is Now.”
