On Monday, May 1, Penn Medicine HealthWorks opened two new, direct primary care practices in Lancaster County – one in Willow Street, PA and another in Lititz, PA.

Penn Medicine HealthWorks Direct Primary Care practices offer patients an alternative and more specialized approach to health care. Practice physicians develop comprehensive health and wellness programs that are tailored to the patient’s short- and long-term health goals. This proactive approach helps optimize the patient’s health with the goal of enhancing their lives.

Dr. Leanne K. Beidler, MD and Jennifer Robertshaw, MD, MPH will lead the clinical teams at each new location and provide a strong patient-physician relationship focused on preventative care and long-term wellness.

HealthWorks practices are specifically optimized for managing patients’ chronic medical conditions, along with routine or acute needs. Patients who join the practice can rely on a high level of care and the most advanced treatments and services from across Penn Medicine.

Memberships to both practices in Willow Street and Lititz are now open and available to the public. Penn Medicine HealthWorks Direct Primary Care charges an annual fee per member, per year. This fee covers services that may not otherwise be covered by the patient’s insurance or Medicare. If the HealthWorks location is an employer-sponsored location, the employer typically pays all or most of the membership fee on behalf of the employee.

The employer-sponsored Penn Medicine HealthWorks practices includes customized corporate health programs that meet the unique needs of that workforce. This includes primary care services, corporate wellness programs, on-site lab and point-of-care testing, and a pharmacy for prescribed medications. This employer-sponsored model has branched into Berks County and soon will also expand to Chester County.

“The goal of Penn Medicine HealthWorks is to remove barriers and increase access to care by taking healthcare out into our community,” said Keith Fox, Director of Employer Relations and Strategic Growth at LG Health. “We started with one pilot practice at Penn Medicine HealthWorks Rock Medical, and now six years later, we have six sites open and three more scheduled to open this year.”
