Penn Medicine Princeton Health hosted a digestive wellness conference December 3 in Plainsboro, N.J. that offered practical advice on better health and better living to people in every stage of life.

Following opening remarks by Princeton Health CEO James Demetriades and Chief of Gastroenterology Anish Sheth, MD, attendees chose from a series of educational sessions on topics related to nutrition, exercise, and digestive health. Instructors included registered dietitian nutritionists Beth Young and Heather Bainbridge, registered dietitian Christine Marciano, eating disorders therapist Michaela Kornberg, LSCW, LCADC, surgeon Elsa Pichardo, MD, and six physicians affiliated with the Center for Digestive Health: Sheth, Kheng-Jim Lim, MD, William Segal, MD, Kristina Katz, MD, Kevin Skole, MD, and Monica Saumoy, MD.

The keynote discussion to close the event was a conversation between Sheth and Amy Brenneman, the Emmy-nominated star of Judging Amy, about her health challenges related to colitis.

Brenneman has worked with the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, supporting its mission to raise awareness about how those in similar situations can improve their quality of life.

The conference was supported by the generosity of longstanding donor and leader Pamela Mills and the Bradford Mills Preservation Fund.
