Congratulations to all staff and physicians at Princeton Medical Center (PMC), which once again ranked among New Jersey’s best hospitals for inpatient satisfaction in 2018.
PMC ranked at the 92nd percentile compared to other hospitals in New Jersey, according to patient experience surveys administered by research firm Press Ganey.
Also in 2018, in the federal surveys known as HCAHPS — Hospital Consumer Assessment of Health Providers and Systems — PMC ranked in the top 10 percent of New Jersey hospitals for patients who rated PMC as a 9 or 10 (of a possible 10) and would recommend the hospital to family and friends.
The HCAHPS surveys gather patients’ impressions about the quality of care they received in various categories. PMC’s performance in the 4th Quarter (October through December) of 2018 was particularly strong, ranking at the:
- 99th percentile for communication with doctors.
- 99th percentile for communication about medicines.
- 97th percentile for the quality of transitions to home and other care facilities.
- 96th percentile for the hospital environment.
- 94th percentile for communication about pain.
- 94th percentile for communication with nurses.
- 93rd percentile for patients who rated the hospital 9 or 10 (of 10).
- 91st percentile for patients who would recommend the hospital.
