Getting around Lancaster General Hospital Level 1 Trauma Center
Red Coat Ambassadors
The Red Coat Ambassadors provide wayfinding guidance, patient and visitor escorts, wheelchair and walking support, and general information about the hospital to patients and visitors. Find an Ambassador at the welcome desk in the lobby on the ground floor and throughout Lancaster General Hospital.
Amenities
Central Table Eatery cafeteria features multiple food stations and a la carte snack and beverage options and is open daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Vending machines are in the James Street Lobby next to Endoscopy Registration.
An automated teller machine (ATM) is located in the Downtown Pavilion next to Lancaster General Hospital. Access it using the connecting pedestrian bridge on Level 1.
Concierges are in the hospital lobby and can help with:
- Food options
- Maps and directions
- Notary services (health-related documents for in-house patients only)
- Overnight accommodations
- Transportation needs
- Area attractions
- Worship locations
- Fax services
Concierge services are available 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the desk or by calling 717-544-7376.

Are available in most patient care areas. All lounges have Wi-Fi access. Children should be accompanied by an adult.
Family members and friends who are waiting for patients in surgery can access other designated family lounge areas found throughout the hospital, including:
- SkyLight, James Street, 2nd Floor
- Orthopedic Center Waiting Area, 2nd Floor
- Children’s Play Area (in the Orthopedic Center Waiting Area, second floor). The children’s area may be closed during construction. No unattended children, please.
Our Convenience Pharmacy offers prescriptions for patients seen by Lancaster General Health clinicians at any of our hospitals, family practices, or outpatient locations. We also offer a selection of over-the-counter medications, health and beauty aids, first aid supplies, and a variety of other health-care items.
We honor the diverse spiritual and cultural needs of our patients, visitors, and employees. Our chaplains are professionally trained to offer emotional and spiritual support to patients and families from all walks of life.
Chaplains are here to listen with compassion and understanding. They help sort through feelings, thoughts and concerns that surface during a hospital stay. Chaplain services and interdenominational chapel access are available at any time. Request a chaplain at 717-544-5979.
The chapel is next to the James Street Lobby on the first floor.
