Comprehensive care for active lives

What is sports medicine? At Penn Medicine, it’s specialized care from a team of primary care physicians, physical medicine and rehabilitation doctors, orthopaedic surgeons, physical therapists, sports nutritionists, athletic trainers, and other providers dedicated to keeping you active and healthy.

Our team is experienced in the field and works together to diagnose and treat even the most complex injuries.

We provide an accurate diagnosis and a full range of nonsurgical and surgical treatment options for every type of sports injury. You will receive a personalized treatment plan, so you can return to your normal activities as soon as possible and experience a faster, fuller recovery. This may include orthobiologic treatments that use the body’s own cells to speed up the recovery of damaged tissues. For people with cartilage injuries, we have specialists at our Cartilage Center who offer complete cartilage care and rehabilitation. Our Hip Preservation Center focuses on early diagnosis and treatment of hip problems in young and active adults, offering innovative nonsurgical and surgical procedures to reduce pain, preserve hip functionality, and potentially delay or prevent hip replacement.

Official orthopaedic partner of professional sports teams

We proudly treat patients of all athletic abilities—from beginners to professional athletes, including the Philadelphia Flyers, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Philadelphia Union, and the US Squash National Team.
